Tianjin Brisk Metalwork Co., Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of structural steel tube in China. We have world-leading production equipment and strong manufacturing capabilities. Please feel free to buy bulk durable structural steel tube from our factory.
Which Manufacturing Route Fits Which Job?
| Route | Typical Strength | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Cold-formed ERW | Economical, clean geometry, wide size range | Buildings, frames, mezzanines, machinery, solar |
| Cold-formed, large section (submerged-arc welded) | Larger diameters and heavier walls than ERW | Large columns, piles, towers |
| Seamless | No weld seam, uniform wall around the section | High-pressure-adjacent structures, critical nodes |
| Hot finished (seamless or welded and normalized) | Uniform properties around the whole section, impact-grade options | Offshore, bridges, seismic, cold-region structures |
Sizes at the boundaries of each route depend on the mill program, so please confirm yours with us.

How Do You Choose the Right Structural Tube?
Work through these questions in order:
- What is the load type? Static loads on a building frame suit cold-formed tube. Fatigue, seismic or low-temperature loads point to impact-rated grades (J2H, K2H) and hot finished tube.
- What is the connection? Welded nodes with thick walls need weldability data and, for very thick sections, a hot finished route.
- How visible is the steel? Exposed steel in architecture benefits from tighter corners and cleaner surfaces.
- How big is the section? Beyond the ERW size range, welded large-diameter or seamless production takes over.
- What does the specification require? The governing standard on your drawing, EN or ASTM, sets the grade, tolerance and test regime.
If you send us the drawing, we will propose the most economical route that still meets the specification.
How Do We Make Sure the Tube Is Fit for Structural Use?
- Chemical analysis by heat, reported on the certificate
- Tensile and, for impact grades, Charpy testing at the specified temperature
- Flattening and bend tests on welded tube
- Non-destructive testing of the weld seam or the tube body
- Dimensional inspection: size, wall, length, straightness, end squareness
- Heat-number marking on the tube and on the bundle tag, matched to the certificate
- Third-party inspection by an agency you nominate, if required
Why Order Mixed Sections From One Supplier?
Real projects rarely use one section. A single frame might need SHS for columns, RHS for rafters and CHS for bracing. Sourcing these from three mills tends to bring:
- three sets of documents to check
- three production schedules that do not line up
- split shipments, and a site waiting for the last item
We supply all the sections on one purchase order, with a single certificate pack, one inspection visit and one shipping plan. You manage one supplier instead of three.
What Does a Mixed-Section Order Look Like?
Project example: logistics warehouse package. A contractor needed 186 tonnes of structural tube: SHS for columns, RHS for rafters and purlins, and CHS for bracing. Their earlier plan used three mills, three document sets and two shipments that arrived 19 days apart, leaving the erection crew waiting.
We produced the full package against a single purchase order, issued one certificate pack by heat number and loaded it into 8 containers (7 x 40 ft at 11.8 m, 1 x 20 ft at 5.8 m) in one shipment. The contractor had one inspection visit at the mill and one set of paperwork for customs and the engineer.
Where Is Our Structural Steel Tube Used?
- Industrial buildings and warehouses: columns, rafters, bracing
- Bridges and stadiums: trusses, nodes, chords
- Offshore, ports and harbors: legs, braces, platforms
- Cranes, lifting and mining equipment: columns, booms, frames
- Solar mounting structures: posts and rails
- Towers and masts: telecom and power support structures
FAQ
Q: Can you supply SHS, RHS and CHS in the same order?
A: Yes. Different sections and grades can be combined on one purchase order, subject to the rolling schedule.
Q: Do you cut tube to fit 20 ft or 40 ft containers?
A: Yes. We cut to 5.8 m or 11.8 m so you use the container fully, or quote flat rack and breakbulk for full-length tube.
Q: Can you arrange third-party inspection?
A: Yes. We arrange inspection at the mill by the agency you nominate, and issue 3.2 certification if required.
Q: Can you galvanize or paint the tube?
A: We supply black tube for your own treatment, or arrange hot-dip galvanizing or painting after cutting.
