Tianjin Brisk Metalwork Co., Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of en 10210 square hollow section in China. We have world-leading production equipment and strong manufacturing capabilities. Please feel free to buy bulk durable en 10210 square hollow section from our factory.
What Do We Supply Under EN 10210 Square Hollow Section?
Size range: 20x20mm to 500x500mm. Wall thickness: 1.2mm to 40mm. Standard lengths: 6m and 12m, custom lengths on request.
Grades supplied: S235JRH, S275J0H/J2H, S355J0H/J2H/K2H, S355NH/NLH, S460NH/NLH. Surface finish: black mill finish, hot-dip galvanized, painted/primed. Every lot ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test report, including the normalizing record for welded-and-normalized production.
Why Can Only the Hot-Finished Route Combine Large Size With Heavy Wall?
Cold-forming force on a square section rises with both the leg length and the wall thickness together - a bigger section needs more force to bend the same wall through the same corner radius, and a thicker wall needs more force again at the same size. Ask for both at once - a large leg length at 25mm-plus wall - and most cold-forming lines run out of holding force before they can close the section to tolerance.
The hot-finishing route does not carry that combined constraint, since the steel is worked hot rather than at room temperature. This is the size-and-wall zone our EN 10210 square line exists for - mega-columns and heavy transfer members that a cold-forming quote either cannot hold to tolerance or cannot produce at all. Send us the size and wall you need and we confirm feasibility before it goes into the structural calculation.
How Do We Control Squareness Through the Normalizing Furnace on Large Columns?
A large heavy-wall column sitting in the furnace during normalizing rests on support points for the full reheating and controlled-cooling cycle. Uneven support contact or uneven cooling across the four faces of a large section can let the diagonal drift slightly out of true before the piece cools back to shape - a furnace-handling variable, not a defect in the steel itself, and one that shows up mainly on larger, heavier sections where the section's own weight and thermal mass are greater.
A specific case: an early furnace run on a 450x450x30mm column order, at 12m length, came out of normalizing with a diagonal-to-diagonal variance of roughly 4mm - caught by our post-normalizing squareness check before the batch proceeded to cutting. We adjusted the support cradle spacing and rotation sequence for that section size and re-ran the remaining pieces; the reworked batch measured within our standard band and shipped on schedule. We hold post-normalizing diagonal variance to within 0.15 percent of nominal leg size on columns 300mm and above as internal QC - checked before any piece proceeds to cutting, drilling, or base-plate fit-up, not left to surface on site where a misaligned base plate is far more expensive to correct.
What Column Applications Is This Combination Built For?
- Mega-columns in high-rise cores and transfer structures - large leg size at heavy wall, where cold-forming tooling cannot reach the combination.
- Composite (concrete-filled) columns - the same large-size, heavy-wall combination applies where the steel tube also serves as permanent concrete formwork under axial load.
- Bridge pier and heavy frame columns - sections sized past typical cold-formed range, where furnace-stage squareness control matters as much as the section properties on paper.

FAQ
Q: What size and wall combination should we check with you before finalizing a column design?
A: Anything above roughly 300mm leg size combined with 25mm-plus wall is worth a feasibility check before the design is locked - send us the dimensions and we confirm what our line can hold.
Q: Do you check squareness on every large column, or only on request?
A: Every column at 300mm and above goes through our post-normalizing squareness check as standard practice, built into the release-to-cutting step, not an add-on service.
Q: Do you drill vent and fill holes for composite (concrete-filled) columns?
A: On request - send your fill-hole and vent-hole positions per your composite column detail and we cut them before shipment.
Q: Can you supply splice-joint bevel prep for site welding of long columns shipped in sections?
A: Yes - bevel angle and root face cut to your splice detail, done in our shop before shipment.
