Manufactory Process
- These are formed by hot-rolling steel billets at high temperatures and fall into two main categories: hot-rolled seamless thick-walled square tubes and hot-rolled welded thick-walled square tubes. In the industry, a wall thickness of 10 mm or greater is generally classified as a "thick-walled" specification; the tube walls are dense and free of lamination, featuring a uniform microstructure, while their load-bearing and impact-resistance capabilities far surpass those of standard cold-formed thin-walled square tubes.

- Round billet inspection & cutting → Billet heating (1100~1250℃) → High-pressure water descaling → Rotary piercing (hollow mother tube) → Continuous wall rolling → Reheating of rough tube → Hot rolling forming (round tube to square profile) → Water cooling → Straightening → Fixed-length cutting → Hydrostatic test + UT inspection → Mechanical property test → Surface treatment (black paint / anti-rust oil / hot-dip galvanizing) → Marking → Warehouse & delivery

Thick-walled VS Thin-walled
- Higher Bearing Capacity & Structural Stability With larger section modulus, thick wall square tubes provide excellent compression, bending and torsion resistance. They remain stable under heavy pressure, lateral torque and dynamic impact, while thin-wall tubes are easy to deform and collapse under heavy loads.
- Uniform Structure & Anti-fatigue Performance Hot rolling process eliminates internal stress with dense and uniform metal structure. The tubes resist fatigue and cracking under long-term vibration and alternating load. Cold-formed thin-wall tubes have residual stress at corners and are prone to cracking.
- Excellent Machinability & Weldability Sufficient wall thickness avoids welding burn-through. It supports bevel welding, milling, drilling and threading with high connection strength. Thin-wall tubes are easy to burn and deform during welding, not suitable for heavy-duty processing.
- Larger Corrosion Allowance & Longer Service Life Thick wall provides sufficient corrosion margin. Even after long-term outdoor and underground corrosion, the effective load-bearing section is retained, greatly extending the service life of the project.

A: In the steel industry standard, square tubes with wall thickness ≥10mm are classified as thick-wall products. Our factory produces thick wall square tubes ranging from 10mm to 50mm wall thickness, and extra heavy wall sizes can be customized according to project demands.
Q: What are the two manufacturing types of your hot rolled thick wall square tubes?
A: We provide hot rolled seamless thick wall square tubes and hot rolled welded thick wall square tubes. Seamless pipes are integrally formed from solid steel billets with zero welds; welded pipes are made of hot rolled steel plates, welded and then hot rolled into square shape with stable overall performance.
Q: What is your minimum order quantity? Can I customize sizes and lengths?
A: Our standard MOQ is 25 tons. We support custom side sizes, wall thickness, fixed cutting lengths as well as special surface treatment requirements. Standard delivery lengths are 6m and 12m.
Q: Is hot rolled welded thick wall square tube safe for heavy load projects?
A: Our welded square tubes adopt high-temperature stress relief treatment after welding and secondary hot rolling forming. The weld structure is strengthened, which completely meets the bearing requirements of most infrastructure and mechanical projects with more cost advantages than seamless pipes.
