Mainstream manufacturing process:
Hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel strip → Cold-forming into a square shape → Longitudinal high-frequency welding → Weld seam leveling → Cut-to-length → Straightening
Standards & Material Grades
- EN 10219: Cold formed welded hollow sections for structural use. Common grades: S235JRH, S355J0H/J2H,
- EN 10210: Hot finished structural hollow sections
- ASTM A500: Cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing. Grades: Grade B, Grade C
Surface Treatment Options
- Black / bare finish: oiled for anti-rust during transit.
- Hot dipped galvanized: zinc coating for corrosion resistance, zinc coating around 35-80 um.
- Painted / primer coated

Weld Seam Quality
ERW rectangular tube has a longitudinal weld seam. The weld bead can be internally scarfed (removed) for smooth inner surface as required.
- Standard weld: suitable for general structural use
- Scarfed weld: preferred for high-pressure, precision or aesthetic applications
- Weld integrity test: eddy current test can be applied to detect weld defects For critical projects, we can supply non-destructive testing (NDT) reports.
Corrosion & Lifespan Guidance
- Black bare RHS: must be painted or coated after installation; short service life if exposed outdoors directly
- Hot-dip galvanized RHS: zinc layer bonds metallurgically to steel, good for outdoor, coastal and humid environments, service life up to 20–50 years depending on surroundings
- 3PE coated RHS: ideal for underground pipelines, soil corrosion protection

Q: Can we mix different sizes or grades in one container?
A: Yes, mixed sizes are acceptable as long as we arrange proper packing.
Q: What is your tolerance standard?
A: We follow EN 10219 / ASTM A500 tolerance, can also accept special tight tolerance per client drawing.
Q: Can you supply third-party inspection?
A: SGS, BV, Intertek inspection are supported before loading.
Q: How long can galvanized RHS stay without rust?
A: Depends on working environment. Dry inland area lasts much longer than salt coastal area.
