EN10219 S355J0H the welded pipe is made of fine-grained unalloyed steel, which requires a minimum yield strength of 355MPa (nominal thickness ≤ 16mm) and a tensile strength of 470-630MPa. The material needs to meet the requirements of 0°C low temperature impact toughness, and the single value of Charpy V-type notched impact energy is not less than 27J, and the average value needs to be ≥40J (sample size 10×10mm). The chemical composition is strictly controlled, and the carbon equivalent CET ≤ 0.42%, of which the carbon content ≤ 0.20%, the manganese content ≤ 1.70%, and the sulfur and phosphorus content are controlled at ≤0.030% and ≤0.025% respectively.

In terms of manufacturing process, it is required to use controlled rolling and controlled cooling (TMCP) or normalizing process to produce, and the forming method includes cold forming process such as JCOE or UOE. The submerged arc welding process must be used for welding, and post-weld heat treatment must be applied to eliminate residual stresses. All EN10219 S355J0H steel pipes are subject to 100% ultrasonic testing (according to EN10160 standards) with a detection sensitivity of 3mm equivalent diameter flat bottom holes. The dimensional tolerances are strictly controlled, with a permissible deviation of ±0.5% to ±1% for the outer diameter and ±10% for the wall thickness.

EN10219 S355J0H steel pipes are subject to a series of mechanical property tests, including tensile tests (sampling transverse), bending tests (180° cold bending without cracks) and hardness tests (HV10≤265). In addition, the standard also stipulates strict surface quality requirements, and does not allow defects such as cracks and folds that affect use.
