S355JR is a non-alloy structural steel grade specified in EN 10025‑2:2019, the European standard for hot‑rolled products of structural steels.
S: Structural steel
355: Minimum yield strength of 355 MPa (for thickness ≤ 16 mm)
JR: Charpy V‑notch impact energy ≥ 27 J at +20°C
It is one of the most widely used high‑strength structural steels in Europe and global engineering, featuring excellent weldability, formability, and mechanical performance for medium‑to‑heavy load‑bearing structures.
