  • Core Specification: API 5L (46th Edition) – the latest industry standard, with stricter quality control and testing requirements than previous editions; fully aligned with ISO 3183 international standards.

 

  • Product Service Levels: PSL1 (standard grade for general transmission applications); PSL2 (premium grade for high-pressure, critical, or sour service environments).

  • Available Grades: Grade B, X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70, X80; sour service variants (MS/QS grades) available for CCS and RNG projects.

Corrosion Resistance Performance

 

Corrosion is one of the leading causes of pipeline failure, particularly in sour service environments or areas with highly corrosive soil. Brisk Steel API 5L pipes are designed to address this risk:​

 

  • Our standard anti-corrosion coatings provide reliable protection against soil stress, groundwater corrosion, and general atmospheric corrosion.​

 

  • For sour service applications (exposure to H₂S and CO₂), we offer specialized PSL2-grade pipes with enhanced corrosion resistance properties, meeting the strict NACE TM0177 and TM0284 industry standards for hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) and sulfide stress cracking (SCC) resistance.​

 

  • All coated pipes undergo rigorous holiday detection testing and thickness measurement to ensure coating integrity before shipment.

 

Production & Testing Capabilities

 

Every Brisk Steel API 5L pipe undergoes a comprehensive, 9-stage inspection process to ensure zero defects in critical application areas:​

 

  • Raw material chemical composition analysis and mechanical property testing;​

 

  • Dimensional accuracy inspection (outer diameter, wall thickness, straightness);​

 

  • 100% hydrostatic testing: Each pipe is tested to a pressure 1.5 times its design operating pressure, with no leakage or permanent deformation allowed;​

 

  • Weld seam inspection for ERW/LSAW/SSAW pipes: Full-length ultrasonic testing (UT) and eddy current testing (ET) to detect internal weld defects;​

 

  • Magnetic particle testing (MT) to identify surface defects on pipe ends;​

 

  • Charpy V-notch impact testing (for PSL2 grades) to verify low-temperature toughness;​

 

  • Hardness testing to ensure material strength meets standard requirements;​

 

  • Coating thickness inspection and holiday detection testing;​

 

  • Final visual inspection and pipe marking verification (per API 5L standards).
