WHAT IS HOT FORMED HOLLOW SECTIONS?

Hot forming process is a metal processing technique that is mainly used for manufacturing of high strength metal parts. Which gives metal materials with high strength and good dimensional stability through high temperature heating and rapid cooling.

Technological process

Hot forming process is to heat the boron containing steel plate to the austenite temperature range (above 900℃), and then transport it to a hydraulic for stamping while the steel plate still has ductility. Water cooling molds ensure that steel plates obtain martensitic structure after quenching. Which can effectively improve the plasticity of metal materials, making the metal material more easily deformed during the subsequent molding process. After forming, the austenite inside the steel tube is rapidly cooled to transform into martensite, thereby obtaining high strength and high hardness parts.

Application fields

Hot forming process is widely used in the processing of high-strength steel in automobile manufacturing, especially in the manufacturing of reinforced structures such as A-pillars, B-pillars, and roll cage for automobile bodies. This process can not only improve the strength and safety of parts, but also achieve lightweight design, meeting the needs of energy conservation and emission reduction.
