Advantage & Applicant Field
Advantage
- Weldability: Low carbon equivalent; conventional welding requires no preheating. For thick plates (>40 mm), preheating to 50°C is recommended to prevent cracking.
- Machinability: Exhibits good performance in cold bending, punching, and cutting operations; capable of 90° cold bending (with an inner radius of 1.5t) without cracking.
- Corrosion Resistance: As a standard carbon steel, it possesses no inherent corrosion resistance; outdoor applications require protective painting or galvanizing.
- Service Temperature: Maintains stable strength during short-term exposure up to 400°C; not suitable for low-temperature (<0°C) environments involving high impact loads.
