Mechanical properties:
- Impact test under forced conditions using the J-B method (extra test required for the low-temperature environment below -20℃).
- Hardness testing covers the base metal, weld seam and heat affected zone ; full pipe body testing is required for seamless pipes).
- Grain size and inclusions must meet the requirements for ductile fracture propagation (especially for gas transmission pipelines).
Production method: Seamless pipes are mainly produced by hot rolling and can be cold expanded in diameter; welded pipes require high-precision welding techniques (such as SAWL/SAWH).
Delivery condition:
- Q (quenching + tempering): Enhance strength and toughness (such as X70Q).
- M (hot mechanical rolling): Optimize comprehensive performance, suitable for deep-sea or extremely cold environments.
Applications:
- High-pressure gas transmission trunk lines (with working pressure ≥ 15 MPa).
Polar or deep-sea oil and gas pipelines (able to withstand -45℃ low temperature and high salt corrosion).
- Acidic oil and gas fields containing hydrogen sulfide.
- High-pressure urban gas distribution networks (taking into account both safety and economy).
